MORLEY, Mo. -- Ione Love Johnson, 83, of Vienna,Va., died Thursday, May 4, 2006, at Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Washington, D.C.
She was born April 14, 1923, at Morley, daughter of Arthur and Amanda Eachus. She and retired Army Colonel Dr. George L. Johnson were married in 1947 at Morley. He died in 1984.
Johnson attended Southwest Missouri State University in Springfield. She was an artist and musician.
She served in the Women's Army Corps and was a veteran of World War II.
Survivors include four sons, Eric Johnson of Kailua, Hawaii, Clay Johnson of Vienna, Jeffrey Johnson of Arlington, Va., Mark Johnson of Florissant, Mo.; a daughter, Karen Manfredi of Vienna; a sister, Ruth Sangren of Nixa, Mo.; a brother, James Eachus of Marble Hill; 10 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
A memorial service was held May 9 at Money and King Funeral Home in Vienna. Interment with her husband will be at a later date in Springfield National Cemetery in Springfield.
