MARBLE HILL, Mo. -- Ioma E. Denton, 82, of Marble Hill, Mo., died Sunday, Oct. 21, 2012, at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.

She was born May 15, 1930, in Harvel, Mo., to Chester and Elsie I. (Stout) Horn. She and Wilson L. Denton were married Nov. 23, 1946. He preceded her in death July 13, 2005.

Mrs. Denton worked as a homemaker, at Sterlings and Dollar General Store and as a secretary at Denton Plumbing & Heating, all in Perryville, Mo. She was a member of Sedgewickville Baptist Church. She enjoyed crocheting, reading and watching western movies.

Survivors include sons: Gerald Lee (Margaret) Denton of Marble Hill, William M. (Sharon) Denton of Troy, Mont., Randy J. (Betty) Denton of Perryville; daughter Bonita J. (Alan) Bryson of Libby, Mont.; daughter-in-law Ellen Denton of Bowling Green, Ky.; brother Willis Horn of Cape Girardeau; sisters Pearl Horn of Herman, Mo., and Ruth (John) Melton of Perryville; 15 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son, Ronald Denton; and three sisters, Opal Diamond, Ruby Clayton and Virginia Statler.

Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today at from 6:30 to 8:30 a.m. Wednesday at Young and Sons Funeral Home.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Sedgewickville Baptist Church, with the Rev. Mike Dugan and the Rev. Les Bequette co-officiating. Burial will be in Sedgewickville Baptist Cemetery.

Memorials are preferred to the American Cancer Society.
