EAST PRAIRIE, Mo. -- Inez Shoffner, 85, formerly of East Prairie, died Wednesday, Jan. 8, 2003, at Countryside Health Care Center in Bardwell, Ky.
She was born July 12, 1917, in New Albany, Miss., daughter of Mack Hugh and Willa Vaughn Pearson. She married William Emmett Shoffner Sr., who died in 1964.
Shoffner lived in the East Prairie area most of her life, and was a member of First Baptist Church. She moved to Bardwell five years ago.
Survivors include five sons, Ralph Shoffner of Hernando, Miss., William Shoffner Jr. of Fredericktown, Mo., David Shoffner of Charleston, Mo., Frank Shoffner of Seattle, Wash., T.J. Shoffner of San Antonio, Texas; two daughters, Evelyn Housman of Benton, Mo., Ann Pehm of Bardwell; a brother, Mack Pearson of Phoenix, Ariz.; two sisters, Hazel Lynch of Springfield, Mo., Vivian Schneider of East Prairie; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, a daughter, two brothers, two sisters, and a granddaughter.
Graveside service will be at 2 p.m. today at Oak Grove Cemetery near Charleston. The Rev. George White will officiate.
McMikle Funeral Home at Charleston is in charge of arrangements.
