Imogene Bollinger, 96, of Cape Girardeau passed away Monday, Sept. 2, 2019, at Chateau Girardeau.

She was born Feb. 9, 1923, in Bollinger County, Missouri, to Bennie F. and Nila Jane Logan Dickison. Imogene married Clifford Alex Dalton on Oct. 7, 1939, at Sturdivant, Missouri. To that union, one son, William Clifford Dalton, was born Oct. 19, 1948. Clifford died Jan. 23, 1955. Imogene married Loyd L. Bollinger on Aug. 10, 1962, at Evangelical United Church of Christ in Cape Girardeau. Loyd passed away Dec. 17, 2012.

Imogene worked for International Shoe Co. and later became a full-time mother, housewife, grandmother and great-grandmother. She loved to play cards and dominoes with her friends and family. When her health began to fail, she moved to rural Perryville, Missouri, and lived with her sister, Della Thompson, who cared for her for several years.

Imogene moved her church membership from Evangelical UCC in Cape Girardeau to Grace Community Church in Farmington, Missouri.

Surviving are two granddaughters, Casey (Rodney) Brown, and their two children, Callie and Alex of Fruitland, and Kelly (Jason) Kniess, and their sons, Wyatt and Deacon of Ellington, Missouri; stepdaughter, Hope (James) Essner of Kelso, Missouri, and their children, Tamara (David) Glastetter and sons Nathan, Justin and Dylan of Imperial, Missouri, Todd (Amy) Essner and sons Kaden and Jeramy of Jackson and Toni (Lance) Craft, and children Skylar and Kael of Jackson; stepson, Wynn (Linda) Bollinger, and their daughters, Laura (Craig) Hutson of Jackson and Christa (William) Zickfield, and children Olivia and Leighton of Cape Girardeau; and sister, Della Thompson of Perryville.

She was preceded in death by her parents; both husbands; her son, William Dalton, on July 8, 2011; grandson, Caleb William Brown, on Oct. 4, 2002; brothers, William R. and James B. Dickison; and sister, America Osmondson.

Visitation will be from 9 to 11 a.m. Thursday at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home.

Funeral will follow at 11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home, with Pastor David Parmley officiating. Burial will be at Morgan Cemetery in Advance, Missouri.

Memorial contributions may be given to Grace Community Church.
