Ilean M. Clippard, 93, of Oak Ridge passed away Friday, Feb. 26, 2016, at Life Care Center in Cape Girardeau.
She was born May 21, 1922, in Kellogg, Illinois, daughter of Edward L. and Myrtle M. VanPelt Bauer. She and Floyd S. Clippard were married May 4, 1946, in Ste. Genevieve, Missouri. They had been married 60 years when Floyd passed away Dec. 31, 2006.
Ilean was a 1939 graduate of Valle High School in Ste. Genevieve. She played in the Herby Kist Troubadour Band of Ste. Genevieve after graduation. She worked for the former Missouri Farmer's Bank in St. Louis for a while before meeting her husband to be. After she and Floyd were married, Ilean moved to the family farm in Oak Ridge, where they farmed until his death. She and Floyd would often play music at the Veterans Home and other local nursing homes. Ilean enjoyed playing the accordion while her husband played the guitar.
Loving survivors include a daughter, Linda (William) Freeman of Oak Ridge; a granddaughter, Stacey (Scott) Shields of Redmond, Washington; a great-granddaughter, Abby Shields; a brother, Stanley Bauer of O'Fallon, Missouri; two nieces; and a nephew.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a nephew.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today at McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Jackson.
The funeral service will be at 11:30 a.m. Monday at the funeral home, with the Revs. Rodger Rice and Jon Sedgwick officiating. Interment will be in Russell Heights Cemetery in Jackson.
Memorials may take the form of contributions to Southeast Hospice.
