SCOTT CITY -- Funeral for Idalene Head of Scott City will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Scott City. The Revs. Wayne Gould and Rennie Phillips will officiate. Burial will be in Lightner Cemetery.
Friends may call at the chapel after 4 p.m. today.
Head, 77, died Sunday, March 21, 1999, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.
She was born March 19, 1922, at Mingo, daughter of John Courtney and Lucinda Edna Johnson Payne. She first married Lester "Woody" Brant Oct. 15, 1942. He preceded her in death. She married Gertis Head in 1975.
Head was a member of Wesleyan Church.
Survivors include her husband; three sons, R.E. "Eddie" Brant of Wildwood, Randy Brant of Boutte, La., Larry Brant of Scott City; a brother, J.C. Payne of Blue Springs; 18 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two sons, a brother, and a sister.
