IDA KATHLEEN POLEN

Ida Kathleen Polen, 81, of Waterloo, Illinois, formerly of Cape Girardeau, died Thursday, Dec. 24, 1998, at Monroe County Care and Rehab in Waterloo, Illinois.

She was born Oct. 2, 1917, in Essex, Missouri, the daughter of Jason Felix and Iva Galloway Armes.

She married Charles Warren Polen Dec. 23, 1939, in Dexter, Missouri. He preceded her in death Nov. 8, 1988.

Mrs. Polen was a member of First Baptist Church in Cape. She had moved to Cape in 1958 from Millersville and then left Cape in 1990.

A daughter, Diana Roche, and a grandson, Bradley Rooney of Dupo, Illinois, survive her.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Karen Jean Polen, Jan. 15, 1961, and a brother, Leonard LaRock.

Visitation will be Sunday, 4 to 8 p.m. at Ford and Sons Sprigg Street Funeral Home.

Funeral service will be Monday, 1 p.m. at Ford and Sons Sprigg Street Funeral Home, with Dr. John Owen officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery.
