CHARLESTON -- Ida B. Hamilton, 82, of Atlanta, Ga., died Sunday, Feb. 15, 1998, at Emory University Hospital in Atlanta.
She was born Feb. 23, 1915, in Moorhead, Miss., daughter of Jasper and Evelina Harrison Spears. She and Andrew Hamilton were married Aug. 25, 1953. He died March 24, 1994.
Formerly of Charleston, she had lived in Missouri more than 50 years. She moved to Atlanta three years ago. Hamilton was a member of Columbia Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses in Decatur, Ga.
Survivors include three sons, James Hamilton of Murphysboro, Ill., Joseph and Willie Riley of Chicago; five daughters, Dorothy Steel of Chicago, Harriet Williams of Atlanta, Ruth Riley of Los Angeles, Calif., Mildred Wright of St. Louis, Evelyn Hart of Sauk Village, Ill.; 48 grandchildren; 76 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral service will be at 3 p.m. Saturday at Sparks Funeral Home, with Leroy Shead officiating. Burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home after 2 p.m. Saturday.
