ORAN -- Ida Anna Halter, 89, of Oran, died Tuesday, Jan. 26, 1993, at Barnes Hospital in St. Louis.
She was born Dec. 23, 1903, at Apple Creek, daughter of Hugo Henry and Catherine Christine Winkler Buchheit. She and Francis Xavier Halter were married Nov. 23, 1930. He died May 11, 1957.
Halter had been a machine operator at Thorngate Ltd. at Chaffee, retiring April 6, 1972. She was a member of Guardian Angel Catholic Church, St. Ann Sodality and Oran Senior Citizens.
Survivors include a son, Robert Halter of Sisters, Ore.; two daughters, Marietta King of Clearmont, Fla., Rosalie Kappler of Cahokia, Ill.; a brother, Cornelius Buchheit of Alta Loma, Calif.; three sisters, Juletta Ponder and Alfreida Stroeher of St. Louis, Rita Brice of Desoto; 13 grandchildren, and 15 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, three brothers and four sisters.
Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Guardian Angel Church. The Rev. Normand Varone will officiate, with burial in the church cemetery.
Friends may call at Amick-Burnett Funeral Home here after 3 p.m. today. The parish rosary will be at 7.
