Hurma Bradshaw, 84, of Cape Girardeau died Friday, Dec. 8, 2000, at the Missouri Veterans Home in Cape Girardeau.
He was born Sept. 6, 1916, in Cape Girardeau, son of James and Alma Stacy Bradshaw. He and Thelma Eaker were married Jan. 26, 1935, in Marble Hill, Mo. She died Jan. 3, 1985.
Bradshaw was a veteran of the U.S. Army, having served from April 2, 1944, until October 1945.
He lived in Cape Girardeau from 1952 to 1985, when he moved to Scott City, Mo. He lived at the Missouri Veterans Home the last two years.
He was a member of the General Baptist Church in Sturdivant, Mo.
Survivors include a son, Dwight Bradshaw of Joplin, Mo.; four daughters, Peggy Charles of Memphis, and Shirley Wissman, Donna Seabaugh and Brenda Pemberton, all of Cape Girardeau; two brothers, Dewain Bradshaw of Hardin, Ky., and Pernell Bradshaw of Delta, Mo.; two sisters, I.V. Borders and Loise McClain, both of Farmington, Mo.; 14 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a son, a daughter and a grandchild.
Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. today at Balch Cemetery near Advance, Mo.
The Rev. Donny Ford will officiate, with military rites conducted by VFW Post 3838. Ford and Sons Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
