HUGHIE J. NEWELL

GRASSY -- Hughie J. Newell, 78, of St. Louis, formerly of Grassy, died Friday, Sept. 27, 1991, at his home.

He was born at Grassy March 27, 1913, son of Charles F. and Nelsie Myers Newell.

He married Helen Daniels, who survives of the home.

Also surviving are a son, Robert Newell of St. Louis; one daughter, Doris Soriano of Westminster, Calif.; and one sister, Jeppa Porter of St. Louis.

Preceding him in death was one brother, Curtis Newell.

He was a retired self-employed tax consultant. He was a member of the Grassy General Baptist Church.

Friends may call Monday after 10 a.m. at the Liley Funeral Home in Marble Hill.

Funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Monday at the funeral home with the Rev. Steve Sander officiating. Burial will be in the Grassy Cemetery.
