Huey Duane Tewis, 73, of Cape Girardeau died Thursday, Nov. 19, 2020, at Southeast Hospital.
He was born Nov. 4, 1947, in New Orleans, Louisiana, to Huey K. and Irene Norman Tewis.
He and Linda Easterwood were married July 1, 1982, at Cape Girardeau.
Huey was a very well respected anesthesiologist at Southeast Hospital for 38 years.
He was an avid golfer, lover of good food, and loved playing the guitar and singing. He was a Cardinals and Saints fan.
He enjoyed crossword puzzles and studying the Bible.
He loved spending time with his family and friends.
He was a member of Seventh-Day Adventist Church in Cape Girardeau.
Survivors include two sons, Scott (Tina) Tewis and Shane (Tami) Tewis, both Tulsa, Oklahoma; daughter, Laura (Steve) Kozisek of Kansas City, Missouri; sister, Diane Clark of Covington, Louisiana; six grandchildren, Jackson and Grant Kozisek, Vivian, Xander and Kamryn Tewis and Gavin Pardeiro.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral services will be private.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to Southeast Hospital Cancer Center or Seventh-Day Adventist Church.
