JONESBORO, Ill. -- Hudson "Hoppy" Hopkins, 47, of Jonesboro died Friday, Jan. 16, 2004, in Jonesboro. He was born June 27, 1956, in Eldorado, Ill., son of Donnie and Joe Cathcart Hopkins. He married Julie Aydclott Frye Oct. 9, 1999, in Alto Pass, Ill. He worked at the Marion Federal Prison for approximately 15 years. He served in the U.S. Navy and was a member of the Carroll P. Foster VFW Post 3455 in Anna, Ill.
Survivors include his wife; his mother; three daughters, Elissa, Rhiana and Kara Hopkins, all of Alto Pass; two stepsons, Whitney Hutcheson of Atlanta, Ga., and Jeremy Frye of St. Louis; two brothers, Brad Hopkins and Todd Hopkins, both of Eldorado; and a maternal grandmother.
He was preceded in death by his father and three grandparents.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday at the First Baptist Church in Jonesboro and after 9 a.m. Tuesday. The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the church, with the Rev. Ken Bloomingstock officiating. Burial will be in the Jonesboro Cemetery. Graveside military rites will be conducted by VFW Post 3455. Hileman Funeral Home in Jonesboro is in charge of arrangements.
