Hubert W. Slinkard, 86, of Cape Girardeau died Thursday, July 8, 1999, at the Jackson Manor.
He was born Feb. 17, 1913, to James and Elizabeth Coomer Slinkard at Randles. He was married to Evelyn Mobley Aug. 15, 1936. She died Oct. 13, 1979. He later married Anita Becky Spates Feb. 2, 1980.
He was an employee of the Cottenbelt Railroad Co. in Scott City and retired in 1979.
He is survived by two sisters, Ruby Brown of Jackson, Betty Jo Nesbit of Chillhowee; four sons, Jeryl Slinkard of Randles, Charles Slinkard of New Orleans, Gerry Slinkard of Chaffee and Paul Slinkard of Cape Girardeau; a stepdaughter, Janice Moyers of Oak Ridge; five grandchildren; five step-grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and seven step-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters.
The visitation will be at 4 p.m. today at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Chaffee.
The service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the chapel, with the Rev. Grant F.C. Gillard officiating. The burial will follow at the Friend Cemetery in Oran.
