Hubert Lee Ross, son of the late Frank and Malinda Walker Ross, was born in Idalia, Mo., on Oct. 21, 1914, and passed away at his home in Jackson on Nov. 25, 2009, at the age of 95.
He had lived in Dexter, Mo., most all his life before moving to Jackson in 1983. While in Dexter, he and his wife owned and operated Ross's Sporting Goods Store. He was a member of the Lynwood Baptist Church in Cape Girardeau.
In 1939 he was married to Alberta Geraldine Tate in Bloomfield, Mo.
Surviving are one daughter, Linda Valentine of Jackson, one son, Eddie Lee Ross of St. Louis; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; one brother, JC Caldwell of Florida; two sisters, Ethel Williams of Bloomfield and Doris Griffin of Sikeston, Mo.
Many other relatives and friends survive to mourn his passing.
Friends may call after 10 a.m. Saturday at Watkins and Sons Funeral Home in Dexter.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in the Watkins and Sons Chapel in Dexter, with the Lynwood Baptist Church minister, Pastor Mark Anderson of Cape Girardeau, officiating.
Interment will be in Hagy Cemetery in Dexter, with Watkins and Sons Funeral Services of Dexter in charge of arrangements.
