HUBERT F. MORRIS

CHARLESTON -- Hubert F. Morris, 96, of Charleston died Tuesday, Nov. 3, 1998, at Miner Nursing Center.

He was born Oct. 26, 1902, in Johnson County, Ill., son of Amos and Alice Jones Morris. He married Mable Moon Aug. 31, 1924. She preceded him in death.

Morris lived in Mississippi County most of his life where he was a member of the First Christian Church in Charleston and the Masonic Lodge 407 AF&AM. He was a railway clerk 50 years with Missouri Pacific Railroad, retiring in 1967. He was also a self-employed farmer.

Survivors include a son, Edwin Morris of Birmingham, Ala.; two daughters, Kathleen Lane of Bradenton, Fla., and Ann Berna of Culpeper, Va.; a sister, Ruby Akley of Florissant; and a granddaughter.

Friends may call 6-8 p.m. today at McMikle Funeral Chapel in Charleston. Masonic rites will be conducted at 7 p.m.

Private graveside service will be held Friday at IOOF Cemetery with Bob Thomason and Warren Moss of First Christian Church officiating.
