HUBERT D. BISHOP

BURFORDVILLE -- Funeral service for Hubert Dewitt Bishop of Burfordville will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Chaffee. The Rev. Eldo Eaker will officiate.

Friends may call today and tonight at the chapel.

Bishop, 89, died Wednesday, Aug. 23, 1995, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.

He was born Aug. 2, 1906, at Crump, son of William Riley and Ida Columbia Crump Bishop. He and Alice Virginia Dobbs were married Oct. 31, 1929. She died Jan. 19, 1982.

Bishop retired as a security guard from Chrysler Corp. in Detroit, Mich. He was a member of Berrong General Baptist Church at Gipsy.

Survivors include a son, William Bishop of Phoenix, Ariz.; four grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by two brothers and three sisters.
