HUBERT BLESSING

PERRYVILLE, Mo. -- Hubert Blessing, 84, of Perryville, Mo., died Saturday, Jan. 20, 2001, at the Perry County Nursing Center in Perryville.

He was born Jan. 26, 1916, in Perry County, son of Joseph H. Blessing Sr. and Mary Louise Taylor Blessing. He and LaVella Wingerter were married Oct. 4, 1952, in Perryville.

Blessing was a retired aircraft mechanic at McDonnell Douglas. He was a member of St. Vincent de Paul parish, the Holy Name Society, the Perry County Senior Citizens Club and the Perry Promenaders. He also was a third-degree member of the Knights of Columbus.

Survivors include his wife; five brothers, Chalmer V. Blessing and Joseph H. Blessing Jr., both of Perryville, Ben H. Blessing of Omaha, Neb., Conway Blessing of Afton, Mo., and Donald A. Blessing of Zalma, Mo.; and a sister, Irene Kriever of Jackson, Mo.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and a sister.

Friends may call from 4-9 p.m. Tuesday at the Miller Family Funeral Home in Perryville. Parish wake service with the Knights of Columbus will be at 7 p.m.

Friends also may call from 6:30-9:50 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, where the rosary will be recited at 9 a.m.

Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Perryville. The Rev. Kevin P. Fausz will officiate, with burial in Mount Hope Cemetery in Perryville.
