BLOOMFIELD -- Howard W. Stevens, 69, of Bloomfield died Saturday, March 8, 1997, at the Lucy Lee Health Care Center in Poplar Bluff.
He was born Nov. 25, 1927, in Bloomfield, son of Monroe and Mary Evans Stevens. He was a municipal judge in Bloomfield for 20 years, and in Advance for 10 years. He had retired as a transportation supervisor for the Bloomfield School System, was a U.S. Army veteran and member of the Bloomfield Lodge #153 A.F. and A.M.
He married Mary Bennett on July 2, 1967, and she survives him.
He is also survived by two sons, Master Sgt. George Baldwin of Whiteman Air Force Base, Mo., and Barry Baldwin of Scranton, Ark.; one brother, Billy Stevens of Dayton, Ohio; and five grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters.
Friends may call from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at the Chiles-Cooper Funeral Home in Bloomfield. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Monday at the funeral home with the Rev. Kevin Eskew officiating. Burial will be in Walker Cemetery.
