Howard Ray Tumbleson, 76, of Cape Girardeau died Monday, April 16, 2018, at Southeast Hospital.
He was born Jan. 23, 1942, in Lamar, Arkansas, to George Victor and Beulah Jones Tumbleson. He and Katherine Brown were married April 21, 1964, at Essex, Missouri.
He was a Marine, first, last, always.
He was a loving husband and father and always gave more than he took.
He was a bus driver with Greyhound Lines, a police officer in Oregon and a warehouse manager for J.C. Penney.
Survivors include his wife, Katherine Tumbleson of Cape Girardeau; two daughters, Jessie (Randy) Watkins of Mounds, Illinois, and Laura Hogeland of Cape Girardeau; two sons, James Tumbleson of Dallas and Adam Tumbleson of Cape Girardeau; a brother, Wayne (Glenda) Tumbleson of Essex; 17 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Sharon Null; and two brothers, Bill Tumbleson and Burl Tumbleson.
A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
