PERRYVILLE, Mo. -- Howard E. Thilenius II, 79, of Perryville died Wednesday, July 6, 2016, at his home.
He was born Dec. 25, 1936, in Cape Girardeau, son of Howard and Forest Huber Thilenius. He and LaDonna Johnson were married July 26, 2001. She survives in Perryville.
He had been owner/operator of Thilenius Distributing. He was a member of Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church in Sereno, Missouri. He was a Korean War veteran. He was owner of Ducks for Days Hunting Lodge in Stuttgart, Arkansas, and Seminole Village in Okeechobee, Florida. He was a lifetime member of VFW Post 4282, American Legion Post 133, AMVETS Post 94, Elks Lodge 2710 and the National Rifle Association. He loved hunting and fishing.
Other survivors include two daughters, Melissa Viox and Andrea Thilenius, both of Port St. Lucie, Florida; and one brother, Mark (Sandra) Thilenius of Union, Missouri.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday and from 6:30 to 9:15 a.m. Monday at Young and Sons Funeral Home.
He will then be taken to the family farm for a graveside service, with the Rev. Hugh Duffy officiating. Burial will be in the family cemetery, with military graveside honors by VFW Post 4282 and Missouri Delta Team.
Memorials are preferred to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital or St. Labre Indian School in Montana.
