Howard Andrew Marberry, 94, of Jackson died Wednesday, June 10, 2015, at Southeast Hospital in Cape Girardeau.

He was born Nov. 23, 1920, in Clarkton, Missouri, to Andrew Jackson and Effie Belver Marberry. He and Vera Mae Hensley were married Oct. 21, 1939. Together they raised a family in Cape Girardeau.

Howard served his country honorably during World War II as a member of the U.S. Army from October 1944 to January 1946.

He was employed 26 years at International Shoe Co. in Cape Girardeau and then 19 years at Avon Corp. in Morton Grove, Illinois. He and Vera retired back to Cape Girardeau in 1985, where they were lifelong members of Cape First Church.

Survivors include a son, Richard (Marlian) Marberry of Kuttawa, Kentucky; two daughters, Mary Ann (Robert) Moore of Cape Girardeau and Valerie (David) Allen of Jackson; 10 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and nine great-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 72 years; parents; a sister; three brothers; and two sons.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until service time Saturday at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home, with Rick Hensley officiating. Burial will be in Cape County Memorial Park.
