Howard Lively
Howard Scott Lively, 99, of Cape Girardeau died Thursday, May 15, 2008, at The Lutheran Home.
He was born Sept. 6, 1908, in Murphysboro, Ill., son of Connie and Alma Bolby Lively. He and Loretta Siebert were married Oct. 1, 1938, in St. Louis. She died Dec. 25, 1990.
Lively's career began as a bank teller and a saleman for So-Good Potato Chip Co. in St. Louis. He owned a chicken farm and later a restaurant, both in St. Louis County. Lively operated a dairy farm in Waterloo, Ill. He was the former owner and operator of Cape Egg & Feed Co. in Cape Girardeau until his retirement in 1972. Lively was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Church.
Survivors include two sons, Gary Lively of Cape Girardeau, Donald Lively of Bloomingdale, Ill.; a sister, Wanda Waters of Percy, Ill.; seven grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; and two great-stepgrandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two brothers.
Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home. Parish prayers will be at 7 p.m. followed by Knights of Columbus Rosary by St. Vincent Council No. 1111.
Funeral Mass will be at at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Vincent de Paul Church, with the Rev. David Hulshof officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary Cemetery in Cape Girardeau.
