ANNA, Ill. -- Howard Holcomb, 68, of Anna, died Friday, August 21, 1992, at Union County Hospital in Anna.
He was born June 7, 1924, in Ullin, Ill., son of Russell and Edith Read Holcomb.
He married Betty Karraker Jan. 17, 1948. She survives.
He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Anna, member of the Anna Kiwanis Club and Knights of Columbus Council, #6968. He was a veteran of the World War II.
He was the retired owner and operator of Holcomb Machines Works in Anna.
Survivors included his wife, Betty, of Anna; daughter, Babette Holcomb, Anna; son, Kevin Holcomb, Cobden; sister, Charlotte Kraatz, Anna; two grandchildren; and five nephews.
Service will be held Monday at 10 a.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church with Father Tom Miller officiating. Interment will be in Dongola American Legion Cemetery, with military gravesite rites conducted by Carroll P. Foster VFW Post #3455.
Friends may call after 5 p.m. today at Crain Funeral Home in Anna. The Holy Rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.
