Howard Milo Duer, son of the late Dr. Milo and Mary Anna Stone Duer, was born Sept. 4, 1946, in Independence, Missouri, and departed this life Tuesday, Dec. 22, 2020, at Southeast Hospital in Cape Girardeau at the age of 74 years. Howard Duer

Howard Milo Duer, son of the late Dr. Milo and Mary Anna Stone Duer, was born Sept. 4, 1946, in Independence, Missouri, and departed this life Tuesday, Dec. 22, 2020, at Southeast Hospital in Cape Girardeau at the age of 74 years.

Duer attended the First Baptist Church in Puxico, Missouri, and Cape Girardeau. He also was the pastor of Catron Baptist Church and later retired in 2017.

On June 29, 1965, he was united in marriage to Shirley Clinton in Puxico. She survives of the home.

Besides his wife, he is survived by his two sons, John Duer and wife, Dawn, of Cape Girardeau and Samuel Duer and wife, Jolean, of Dexter, Missouri; his daughter, Susan Stone of Cape Girardeau; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Besides his parents, he was also preceded in death by his sister, Sandra Brandt.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday at First Baptist Church in Puxico. A funeral service will then be conducted at 1 p.m. Monday at the church. The Rev. Douglas Clinton will officiate. Interment will be in the Duck Creek Cemetery in rural Puxico.

Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter is in charge of arrangements.
