HOWARD CLIFTON

PERRYVILLE -- Howard W. Clifton, 75, of Perryville died Wednesday, Sept. 4, 1996, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.

He was born Oct. 24, 1920, in Perry County, son of Chalmer F. and Verda Dempster Clifton. He and Irene M. Winters were married Dec. 24, 1939.

Clifton had been a truck driver with Mississippi Lime Co. He was a member of the United Methodist Church, Veterans of Foreign Wars Boosters, American Legion, Saline Masonic Lodge 226 AF&AM, and Eastern Star Chapter 338.

Survivors include his wife; five sons, Floyd Clifton of Essex, Harold and Roger Clifton of Perryville, Ronald Clifton of Cape Girardeau, Allen Clifton of Whitewater; two sisters, Selma Bliss of Brentwood, LaVern Hieger of Florissant; 11 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by three grandchildren.

Friends may call at Miller Family Funeral Home from 4-9 p.m. today, and Saturday after 6:30 a.m.

Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home, with the Revs. Ed Hankinson and John Walker officiating. Burial will be in Home Cemetery.
