SIKESTON, Mo. -- Howard Hopkins Caudell Jr., 55, of Rockford, Ill., died Saturday, Dec. 16, 2000, at his daughter's residence in Bell City, Mo.
He was born Jan. 23, 1945, in Mound City, Ill., son of Howard Hopkins Caudell Sr. and Dollie Hendrix Caudell. They preceded him in death.
He was a plant mechanic for the Essex Corp. in Rockford. He was a member of the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers (AFL-CIO).
Survivors include two daughters, Kim Jones of Bell City and Staff Sgt. Brandy Fresco of Tinker AFB in Oklahoma; seven brothers, Carl Caudell of Granite City, Ill., Elvin Caudell of Columbus, Ga., Nolin Caudell of Duncan, Okla.; Raymond Caudell of Kankakee, Ill.; George Caudell of Duncan, Gary Caudell of Clarksville, Tenn., and Floyd Caudell of Cahokia, Ill.; two half brothers, Tommy Powell and Kenneth Powell, both of Centralia, Ill.; five sisters, Betty Wood of Duncan, Mary Vaughn of Harrisburg, Ill.; Bonnie Sassman of Peoria, Ill.; Linda York of Centralia, Ill., and Dottie Hollis of Clarksville; and two granddaughters.
He was married to Marva Oakes Caudell of Rockford for 31 years.
He was preceded in death by a brother and a sister.
The body was cremated. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
