BENTON -- Howard E. Billman, 72, of Benton died Friday, April 26, 1996, at his home.
He was born May 23, 1923, in Ashtabula, Ohio, to the late Paul Edward and Millie Reed Billman. He served in the U.S. Navy in World War II and had worked in a box factory. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 3319 in Sikeston, the American Legion Henry Meldrum Post 114 in Sikeston and the Morley VFW Post.
He married Lee Medcalf on Sept. 27, 1943. She died Oct. 20, 1978. He married Iris Gay Pratt Sept. 27, 1980, at Lilbourn.
He is survived by his wife, a stepdaughter, Linda Rowe of Sikeston; a brother, Lloyd Billman of Kissimmee, Fla.; a half-brother, James Billman of Diego Garcia; a half-sister, Diana Billman of Houston; and a grandson.
Visitation was today at the Jack Ross Funeral Home in Ashtabulu. Graveside service will be Monday at the Austin Cemetery at Austinburg, Ohio, with the Rev. Diane Walker officiating. Local arrangements were made by Nunnelee Funeral Chapel in Sikeston.
