Horace Lee Allen Reams, 58, of Fond du Lac, Wisconsin, died Friday, June 12, 2015, at Appleton Medical Center after suffering a heart attack earlier in the week.

He was born Oct. 23, 1956, in Cape Girardeau, son of Franklin and Hazel Williams Reams. He and Sherril Hale were married May 20, 1978, in Scott City.

They moved to Fond du Lac in 1987, where he was employed by the Canadian National Railway until he retired.

Horace was a 19-year veteran of the Missouri Army National Guard. He was honorably discharged with the rank of staff sergeant.

He put everyone before himself. From the beginning, Horace and Sherril were best friends.

His grandsons, Owen and Connor, were his world. He loved nothing more than to spend time with them. Horace enjoyed taking vacations with his family.

He was a lifelong and loyal fan of the St. Louis Cardinals.

Horace is survived by his wife of 37 years, Sherril; two children, Kristi (Gary) Gray and Matt Reams; two grandchildren, Owen and Connor Gray; his mother, Hazel; a brother, Steve; a brother-in-law, Keith (Elaine) Hale; a sister-in-law, Teresia (Wayne) Sinn; a niece, Jessica (Matt) Uhrhan; and two nephews, Jonathon (Nicole) Sinn and Justin Sinn.

He was preceded in death by his father; a brother, Franklin; and his wife's parents, Floyd and Mary Hale.

Visitation will be today from 5 to 8 p.m. at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home, 524 N. Park Ave. in Fond du Lac.

The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, with Brent Balken officiating. Burial will be in Rienzi Cemetery with military honors presented by American Legion Trier-Puddy Post 75.
