BERTRAND -- Funeral service for Horace Lee McKinley of Bertrand was held Wednesday at McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston. The Rev. Danny Tackett officiated, with burial in Dogwood Cemetery.
McKinley, 74, died Monday, Aug. 11, 1997, at St. Louis University Hospital in St. Louis.
He was born March 15, 1923, in Medon, Tenn., son of Homer Lee and Daisy Jarred McKinley. He and Joyce Ezzell were married May 7, 1954.
McKinley lived in Bertrand most of his life, and was self-employed in construction. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, Preston McKinley of Benton, Allen McKinley of East Prairie; a brother, Homer McKinley of Scott City; and four grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by four brothers and two sisters.
