WHEATON, Ill. -- Homer D. Miller, 92, of Wheaton died Wednesday, Dec. 29, 1999, at Wynscape Nursing Center. He was born April 24, 1907, in Monticello, Ark., son of Joseph P. and Lillie M. Sansom Miller. He and Marie K. White were married June 14, 1930, in Jonesboro. She died Dec. 28, 1994...

WHEATON, Ill. -- Homer D. Miller, 92, of Wheaton died Wednesday, Dec. 29, 1999, at Wynscape Nursing Center.

He was born April 24, 1907, in Monticello, Ark., son of Joseph P. and Lillie M. Sansom Miller. He and Marie K. White were married June 14, 1930, in Jonesboro. She died Dec. 28, 1994.

Miller worked in various positions in the county superintendent's office and Public Aid Office. He served on the boards of Illinois Power Coop, Illinois Electric Coop, Clear Creek Levee and Drainage Commission.

He served on local and district school boards; had been deacon, lay preacher and teacher at Grace Baptist Church in Lombard; and served in various positions in Alexander County 4-H, farm extension work, and REA Board.

Survivors include six sons, Vernon Miller of Marcellus, Mich., Gerald Miller of St. Paul, Minn., H. Joseph Miller of Palm Beach Gardens, Fla., Dennis Miller of Peoria, Larry Miller of Chapel Hill, N.C., Wayne Miller of Colorado Springs, Colo.; a daughter, Linda Kaufman of Warrenville; 22 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by a son.

Friends may call at Ford and Sons Mt. Auburn Chapel in Cape Girardeau, Mo., from 9-10 a.m. Thursday.

Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at the chapel. The Rev. Raymond Oxford will officiate. Burial will be in City Cemetery at Jonesboro.
