HOMER LEE THORNE

JACKSON -- Homer Lee Thorne, 56, of O'Fallon, Mo. died Saturday, July 6, 1991 at St. Joseph Health Center West at Lake St. Louis.

He was born Feb. 17, 1934, the son of Otto Thorne and Estella Howard. She survives at Leeper, Mo.

On Nov. 17, 1956, he married Anita M. Garcia in Marble Hill. She survives.

He is also survived by a son, Steven H. Thorne, St. Louis; a stepson, Sam E. Gunter III, St. Charles; two daughters, Cheryl Ann Johannpeter, Cape Girardeau, Christina Marie West, O'Fallon; two sisters, Doris Cooper, Cape Girardeau, LaWanda Boyer, Leeper; and two grandchildren.

Two brothers preceded him in death.

He worked as a welder for the Hitzhner Manufacturing Company in St. Louis for a number of years and was a veteran of the Korean conflict.

Friends may call Tuesday from 6-9 p.m. at McCombs Funeral Home in Jackson.

Graveside funeral service will be held Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. at McGuire Cemetery near Burfordville.
