PERRYVILLE -- Funeral service for Homer L. Behrle of Highland will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, March 30, at the St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Perryville.

The Rev. Henry Grodecki, C.M., will officiate, and burial will be in the St. Joseph Cemetery in Highland.

Mr. Behrle died Wednesday, March 27, at his home. He was 81.

He was born April 11, 1909 in Perry County.He was married to the former Opal Henderson, who preceded him in death Feb. 6, 1975. On Nov. 8, 1975, he married the former Alleen A. Thomure Tucker, who survives.

Mr. Behrle was a farmer and a veteran of World War II, where he served in the U.S. Navy. He was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church and the Holy Name Society in Perryville.

Survivors include a step-daughter, Anna Marie Brown of St. Louis; three brothers, Hubert Behrle of High Ridge, Mo., Bill Behrle of Fenton, Mo. and Benny Behrle of Arnold, Mo.; a sister, Estee Gebhardt of Crystal City; four step-grandchildren; and four step, great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by four brothers and a sister.

Friends may call after 5 p.m. Friday at the Young and Sons Chapel in Perryville, until 9:45 a.m. Saturday. A wake service will be conducted at 7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
