GORDONVILLE, Mo. -- Hobert Fredie "Gabby" Riehn, 73, of Gordonville died Saturday, April 7, 2001, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau. He was born Nov. 6, 1927, at Kurreville, Mo., son of John and Sarah Niswonger Riehn. He had worked as a truck driver for Macke Farm Service, Straightway Farm Service and Kuntze Excavating Service...

GORDONVILLE, Mo. -- Hobert Fredie "Gabby" Riehn, 73, of Gordonville died Saturday, April 7, 2001, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.

He was born Nov. 6, 1927, at Kurreville, Mo., son of John and Sarah Niswonger Riehn. He had worked as a truck driver for Macke Farm Service, Straightway Farm Service and Kuntze Excavating Service.

He and Nelda Jean Abbott were married Nov. 30, 1948. She died July 16, 1978. He later married Judith Moore on Jan. 8, 1982.

He was a veteran of World War II, having served in the U.S. Army. He served in the Army National Guard for 10 years and was a former member of Company A in Jackson.

He was a member of Friedheim Lutheran Church.

Survivors include his wife, of the home; three sons, Rodney Riehn of Millersville, Mo., Rocky Riehn of McDonough, Ga., and Ronald Riehn of Honolulu, Hawaii; one daughter, Rhonda Moore of Pocahontas, Mo.; two stepdaughters, Laurie Burns of Gordonville and Martha Denson of Jackson, Mo.; two brothers, Jerry Riehn of Millersville and Melvin Riehn of Jackson; one sister, Betty Williamson of Jackson; 14 grandchildren; six stepgrandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother.

Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. today at Cracraft-Miller Chapel in Jackson. Funeral will begin at 10 a.m. Monday at the funeral chapel, with the Rev. Ann Mowery officiating. Burial will follow at Niswonger Cemetery.
