Hobert S. Kight Jr, 66, of Delta died Friday, Nov. 19, 2010, at the Ratliff Care Center in Cape Girardeau.
He was born Dec. 14, 1943, near Advance, Mo., son of Hobert Stanley and Oleta Mae Irwin Kight Sr. He married Joan Irene Dumey on Sept. 14, 1961.
Hobert was an electrician for many years as well as a retired fork lift loader for Procter & Gamble Paper Products of Jackson. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Delta.
Survivors include two daughters, Sandy (Kenny) Burnett of Delta, Deborah Jones of Jackson; four grandchildren, Elizabeth Jones of Loveland, Colo., Bridgette Jones of Cape Girardeau, Krystal Burnett and Kendra Burnett of Delta; a brother, Joe (Karen) Kight of Jackson; a sister, Marilyn Steck of Cape Girardeau; longtime sweetheart JoAnn Tatum of Chaffee, Mo.; and four great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, two sisters and one great-granddaughter.
Visitation will be after 4 p.m. Monday at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Chaffee.
The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the chapel, with Rev. Eric Hodge officiating. Burial will be at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Fund or the American Diabetes Association.
