OLIVE BRANCH, Ill. -- Hiram W. "Junior" Knott, 78, of Olive Branch died Monday, Nov. 17, 1997, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.
He was born Jan. 4, 1919, at Mayview, son of Hiram Wesley and Ada Jean Laughlin Knott. He married the former Marian Wood in Rockville, Ind.
Knott worked at Femley-Dickerson Construction Co. 28 years, retiring in 1979. He was a member of Olive Branch Chamber of Commerce, and attended Lake Milligan Baptist Church. He served in the U.S. Air Force during World War II.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, Jack Knott of St. Joseph, Jim Knott of Mascoutah; four sisters, Hazel Walsh of Tucson, Ariz., Edith Riley of Smithboro, Ada Haskins of Belgium, Ill., Mary Weber of Danville; and three grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by three brothers and two sisters.
Friends may call at Jones Funeral Home in Tamms from 6-8 p.m. today.
Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Freese Funeral Home in St. Joseph. The Rev. Verlee Eaker will officiate, with burial in Patterson Cemetery at St. Joseph.
