NEW WELLS -- Funeral service for Hilda Wachter of New Wells will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at Immanuel Lutheran Church, with the Rev. Walter Patzwitz officiating. Burial will be in New Wells Cemetery.
Friends may call at McCombs Funeral Home in Jackson from 4-8 p.m. today, and 8:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. Sunday.
Wachter, 90, died Thursday, Sept. 1, 1994, at Deal Nursing Home in Jackson.
She was born Nov. 8, 1903, at New Wells, daughter of Arthur and Emma Moeckel Richter. She and Charles B. Wachter were married Feb. 11, 1923. He died July 29, 1980.
Wachter was a member of Immanuel Church and its Ladies Aid.
Survivors include three sons, Roland Wachter of St. Louis, Arnold Wachter of Jackson, Reinhold Wachter of Belleville, Ill.; two daughters, Florence Kassel of Hemet, Calif., Pauline Nitsch of Sedgewickville; a brother, Edmund Richter of Cape Girardeau; a half brother, Reinhold Richter of Minneapolis, Minn.; two sisters, Cora Sehl and Wilma Roth of St. Louis; a half sister, Vera Leathers of St. Louis; 22 grandchildren, and 37 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, grandson, two brothers and three sisters.
