Hilda M. Beussink, 88, of Jackson passed away Tuesday, Nov. 7, 2017, at her home.
She was born Jan. 21, 1929, in Leopold, Missouri, to Fred W. and Helena A. Elfrink Thiele. She and Albert J. Beussink were married April 19, 1950, at St. John’s Catholic Church in Leopold. They had been married 62 years when Albert passed away Oct. 2, 2012.
Hilda was baptized and confirmed at St. John’s Catholic Church in Leopold. She was a longtime, faithful member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Jackson. She was also a member of the I.C. Home and School Association, I.C. Quilters, St. Ann’s Sodality, the Knights of Columbus Auxiliary and the Notre Dame Booster Club.
Hilda worked several years in the cafeteria of Notre Dame High School. She was well known for cooking, and also enjoyed fishing, gardening, reading and quilting.
Loving survivors include five sons, Steve (Deb) Beussink, Mark (Geri) Beussink, Greg Beussink and John (Lisa) Beussink, all of Jackson, and Don (Pam) Beussink of Lake St. Louis, Missouri; three daughters, Judi (Don) Niederkorn of Jackson, Sheila (Kevin) Ziegler of Gordonville and Cindy (Sean) Poston of Dardenne Prairie, Missouri; four siblings, Irene Stoverink of Jackson, Stanley Thiele and Helen (Harold) Beussink of Marble Hill, Missouri, and Betty (Fred) Beussink of Leopold; 16 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; a great-stepgrandson; and many nieces and nephews. Another great-grandchild is expected in January.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Edwin and Glen Thiele; and five grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Jackson. Deacon Walter Biri will lead parish prayers at 7 p.m., immediately followed by the rosary led by the St. Ann’s Sodality.
The Rev. John Harth will celebrate a funeral Mass at 10 a.m. Monday at the church. Burial will follow at Russell Heights Cemetery in Jackson.
