EAST PRAIRIE -- Hettie Mabel Zook Dovers, 89, of East Prairie died Monday, March 2, 1992, at the Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston.
She was born May 16, 1902 in East Prairie, the daughter of Jacob Wallace and Sally Frances Priest Zook.
She lived most of her life in Mississippi County, where she attended the St. James General Baptist Church in East Prairie.
On Feb. 21, 1921, she married Reinhold Morten. He died on Sept. 8, 1964. On Jan. 10, 1974, she married Jasper J. Dovers, who survives of the home.
Also surviving are one stepson, Jeffery Dovers of Morehouse; and six stepdaughters, Deloris Smith of Miner, Margaret Miller of Joplin, Frances Harrison of Morehouse, Esther Wilson of Phoenix, and Joan Wood and Barbara Nimmo, both of Sikeston.
She was preceded in death by two sisters and four brothers.
Friends may call after 6 p.m. Wednesday at the Shelby Funeral Home in East Prairie.
Funeral service will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. in the Shelby Chapel with the Rev. David Dowdy, pastor of the St. James General Baptist Church in East Prairie, officiating. Burial will follow in the Dogwood Cemetery near East Prairie.
