Hester Hoffman

PERRYVILLE, Mo. -- Hester C. Hoffman, 88, of Perryville died Tuesday, Aug. 19, 2003, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.

She was born Jan. 30, 1915, in Perry County, Mo., daughter of William and Albertine Zoellner Ernst. She and Linus J. Hoffman were married April 23, 1935. He died Feb. 24, 1998.

Hoffman had been a child care provider. She was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Perryville, and former member of Knights of Columbus Auxiliary.

Survivors include a son, Gerald Hoffman of Perryville; three daughters, Geraldine Kimmell and Helen Moll of Perryville, Dorothy Giesler of Farmington, Mo.; eight grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a son, a daughter, and five sisters.

Friends may call at Young and Sons Funeral Home from 4 to 8 p.m. today, and 6:30 to 11 a.m. Friday. The wake is at 6 tonight.

Funeral Mass will be at 11:30 a.m. Friday at St. Vincent de Paul Church, with the Rev. Kevin Fausz officiating. Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery.
