HESTER BROWN

Hester Brown, 90, of Cape Girardeau, died Tuesday, Sept. 29, 1992, at the Lutheran Home.

She was born Dec. 26, 1901, in Wolf Lake, Ill., daughter of Charles W. and Cora Shirley Whitticre. She and Willard Brown were married in 1922 in Cape Girardeau. He died Nov. 13, 1953.

Brown was a member of Southside Baptist Church.

Survivors include a daughter, Virginia Criddle of Cape Girardeau; a son, Donald Brown of Jackson; two sisters, Gladys Blank of Cape Girardeau, Lorean Long of Wayne, Mich.; three grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a brother and grandson.

Funeral service will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday at Ford and Sons Mt. Auburn Chapel. The Rev. Cy Smith will officiate, with burial in Memorial Park.

Friends may call at the funeral home from 6-8 p.m. today.
