Hessie Boone Sullivan, 89, of Cape Girardeau died Friday, April 26, 1996, at St. Francis Medical Center.
He was born Aug. 22, 1906, in Wickliffe, Ky., to the late Joseph and Elizabeth Dennis Sullivan.
He married Eileen Woods on Jan. 27, 1927, in Mound City, Ill.
Sullivan was a member and deacon in the First Presbyterian Church in Cape Girardeau. He had previously lived in Mound and Mound City in Illinois and worked for the Illinois Lumber and Manufacturing Co. He was a member of the city council and volunteer fire department at Mound. He moved to Cape Girardeau in 1953 and worked for Associated Building Center as warehouse supervisor until his partial retirement in 1973. He continued working for the center until his full retirement in 1989.
He is survived by his wife; three daughters, Jo Loesser of New York City, Jerri Hammond of Houston, and Judith A. Schultz of Denver; eight grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a grandson.
Visitation will be today from 2 to 3 p.m. at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Chapel. Service will be at 3 at the funeral chapel. Interment will be in the Memorial Park mausoleum.
