ALTENBURG -- Hertha G. Haertling, 88, of Altenburg, died Tuesday, July 25, 1995, at her home.
She was born Sept. 7, 1906, at Pocahontas, daughter of Fred and Katherine Perr Ruehling. She and Edgar A. Haertling were married Sept. 21, 1924. He died Jan. 23, 1991.
Haertling was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, its Ladies Aid and Lutheran Women's Missionary League, Altenburg Senior Citizens and Golden Age Organization.
Survivors include three sons, Norman, Leonard and Edgar Haertling of Steeleville, Ill.; three daughters, Vernell Steiner of Jackson, Elaine Hadler of Bridgeton, Gladys Prevallet of Simpsonville, S.C.; 27 grandchildren; 64 great-grandchildren, and six great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, sister, brother and great-granddaughter.
Friends may call at Young and Sons East Perry Chapel from 5-9 p.m. Friday, and 6:30-8:30 a.m. Saturday.
Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Trinity Church, with the Rev. Willard Kassulke officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
