POPLAR BLUFF -- Graveside service for Hershel R. Weaver Sr. of Poplar Bluff will be held at 11 a.m. today at Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Poplar Bluff. The Rev. Randall Caraway will officiate.
Friends may call at Watkins and Sons Funeral Home in Puxico after 9 a.m. today.
Weaver, 75, died Monday, Oct. 9, 1995, at John J. Pershing VA Medical Center in Poplar Bluff.
He was born Oct. 17, 1919, at Steele, son of Shields and Mammie Jackson Weaver.
Weaver recently moved here from Haines City, Fla. He was a retired U.S. Air Force recruiter and NCO Club manager. He was a member of American Legion, Lions Club, Kewanee Eagles and Elks Club.
Survivors include three sons, Edwin Weaver of Arab, Ala., Hershel Weaver Jr. of Poplar Bluff, William Weaver of Tampa, Fla.; two brothers, Donald Weaver of Ellington, Leland Weaver of Kennett; two sisters, Lucille Caraway of Kennett, Joanne McDonald of St. Louis; five grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son.
