HERSCHEL G. HOPPE

URBANDALE, Ill. -- Herschel G. "Fish" Hoppe, 68, of Urbandale, died Monday, Feb. 1, 1993, at his home.

He was born Dec. 27, 1924, in Cairo, son of Herschel E. and Lottie Burba Hoppe.

Before retiring he was a dispatcher with Cairo Police Department and Alexander County Sheriff's Department.

Survivors include his wife, Barbara; three daughters, Mary Fissinger of Barlow, Loretta Burns and Donna Thompson of Cairo; two sons, Darrell and Glen Hoppe of Cairo; nine grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.

Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Barkett Funeral Chapel in Cairo. The Rev. William Gholson will officiate, with burial in Beechwood Cemetery at Mounds.

Friends may call at the funeral home after 5 p.m. today.
