ADVANCE, Mo. -- Herschel W. Fisher, 76, of Advance passed away Sunday, Dec. 28, 2014, at his home.
He was born June 25, 1938, in Scott County, son of Robert W. and Bertha Mae Greer Fisher. He and Melba Moore were married Feb. 9, 1957. She preceded him in death Oct. 14, 2013.
Herschel was a store manager with Auto Tire and Parts and Fisher Auto for a combined 40 years. He was also a mechanic. He had been a bus driver for Advance schools. He was a 32nd Degree Mason and former worshipful master. He had been a Boy Scout leader many years and was a member of Perkins Baptist Church. He was a 1956 graduate of Advance High School.
Survivors include two sons, Richard Fisher of Advance and Shane Fisher of Milwaukee; a daughter, Melody May of Alma, Arkansas; eight grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, a brother, six sisters and a daughter-in-law, Kim Fisher.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Morgan Funeral Chapel in Advance.
The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Friday at the chapel, with the Rev. David Swindell and the Rev. Brian Gill officiating. Burial will be in Walker Cemetery at Bloomfield, Missouri.
