Hermena Palmer Mattox, 93, of Cape Girardeau passed away Monday, Jan. 23, 2017, at Ratliff Care Center.
She was born Dec. 14, 1923, in Senath, Missouri, to the late Oscar and Lizzie O. Acre) Stonum.
Hermena was a member of First Baptist Church of Cape Girardeau. She and her husband, Bill Palmer, were owners and operators of the Palmer House Restaurant during the 1960s and the early ’70s.
Survivors include a daughter, Judy (Gene) Hildrich, and son, Mickey (Cindi) Palmer, all of Cape Girardeau; three grandsons, John and Ron Taylor and Drew Van Amburg; five great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Bill Palmer; two children, Dixie and Denny Palmer; three brothers; and one sister.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until the time of service today at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home.
The funeral service will be at noon at the funeral home, with the Rev. Rodger Rice officiating. Private burial will take place in Senath.
Memorial contributions may be given to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
