KOKOMO, Ind. -- Herbert W. Steward, 67, of Kokomo, Ind., died Saturday, May 13, 1995, at his home.
He was born July 29, 1928, in Bell City, the son of James and Lilly Goff Steward.
He married Gloria M. Fowler on Jan. 25, 1975. She survives.
Steward worked for the Continental Steel Corporation for 18 years and the Kokomo Housing Authority for six years, retiring in 1992.
He was a past member of the Eagles Club of Kokomo.
Other survivors include four daughters, Brenda Chasteen, Shirley Prifogle, Debbie Lucky and Patricia Ford all of Kokomo; a step daughter, Aleta Conyers of Kokomo; a brother, James Steward of Greentown, Ind.; four sisters, Dollie Lowves of Indianapolis and Rosybell Stephens, Norma Jean Pind and Ruth Jauch all of Cape Girardeau; 11 grandchildren; three step grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and three step great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by three brothers and a granddaughter.
Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. today at the Sunset Memory Garden Funeral Home in Kokomo, where funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday. The Rev. Keith Mosier will officiate, and entombment will be at the Sunset Memory Gardens Cemetery.
