EAST PRAIRIE -- Funeral service for Herbert O'Dell Rowland, East Prairie Route 1, will be held at 2 p.m. today at Shelby Funeral Chapel. The Rev. George White will officiate, with burial in Dogwood Cemetery.
Rowland, 80, died Monday, Aug. 23, 1993, at Sells Rest Home in Matthews.
He was born July 28, 1913, in Montezuma, Tenn., son of Jacob Martin and Nancy Ellen Childress Rowland. He and Lennie Blair were married Jan. 21, 1935, at Hnderson, Tenn.
Rowland was a retired farmer, and member of First Baptist Church here.
Survivors include his wife; three sons, Jerry Rowland of North Little Rock, Ark., Lionel Rowland of Hernando, Miss., Larry Rowland of East Prairie; a daughter, Linda Lindsey of Hurricane, W. Va.; a brother, Houston Rowland of Poplar Bluff; four sisters, Lucy Henson of Montezuma, Pauline Wilson of Jackson, Tenn., Ethel Hurst of Crump, Tenn., Buffie Henson of Hornsby, Tenn.; 13 grandchildren, and 11 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a granddaughter, five brothers and a sister.
