HERBERT LORENZ

FARRAR -- Herbert Eugene Paul Lorenz, 87, of Farrar died Tuesday, Dec. 2, 1997, at Farrar.

He was born March 9, 1910, in Perry County, son of Emmanuel and Martha Soehl Lorenz. He and Eugenia Burroughs were married Nov. 19, 1933.

Lorenz was a retired carpenter. He was a lifelong member of Salem Lutheran Church and its Men's Club.

Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Ruby Steffens and Nancy Mantz of Farrar; three sons, Earl and Carol Lorenz of Farrar, Verlin Lorenz of Steeleville, Ill.; a sister, Frieda Petzoldt of St. Louis; 13 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, five brothers and two sisters.

Friends may call at Young and Sons Funeral Home in Perryville from 4-9 p.m. today, and Thursday from 6:30-8 a.m.

Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Salem Church, with the Rev. Robert Schneider officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
